WB Games gives Batman: Return to Arkham collection an October release date

After getting an announcement trailer in May and a summer release date, Warner Bros. Games Batman: Return to Arkham, a remastered set of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City for the next-gen consoles, was suddenly put on indefinite hold in June.

It looks like indefinite hold actually means October.

WB Games released a new video that does a side by side comparison of the game graphics as they were originally released on the last gen consoles and the graphics as they will appear in the newly remastered HD current gen console collection. This video also came with a October 18 release date for the game.

Originally the game was delayed to give the team behind the remaster “additional time to deliver a polished Batman Arkham game experience.”From the looks of the video, they were able to accomplish that with the extra time.

The move to create a remastered collection of the original games to bring over to the current generation of consoles makes it so that the entire trilogy will now be playable on PS4 and Xbox One, since the final game Batman: Arkham Knight was only released on the current generation of systems.

Both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City and all their downloadable content and extras will be available in the collection on October 18.
